Dikili port and tourısm Co. Inc. was set up to provide the sheltering, loading & discharging, shifting, limbo, terminal, piloting, towing, mooring, watering, waste disposal, passenger hall, maintenance & repairs, ship chandlering, and similar services at the Dikili seaport.
A USD 4.5 million investment
Acquired at an investment cost of USD 4.5 million under the BOT model, the Dikili seaport is to be operated by Dikili Liman ve Turizm İşletmeleri Ticaret AŞ for a thirty-year period that began in 2003. The company is a joint venture of Kolin İnşaat Turizm Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, Diperlit Filtre Madencilik ve Sanayi Ltd, Taşimpeks Granit ve Mermer Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd, Jeotermal Turizm AŞ, and TDİ AŞ.
1 million-ton capacity
The Dikili port’s existing 500,000 ton/year cargo handling capacity is to be doubled to 1,000,000 tons/year. To achieve this, the plan is to attract new types of cargo to the port with the introduction of new gantry cranes along the dockside. The port has facilities such as a passenger terminal, duty-free shops, a cafeteria, and free internet connections that serve tourists arriving and departing by Turkish and international cruise and passenger ships as well as daytrippers to and from the Aegean islands.
Passenger hall, customs, customs guard, health, and maritime police services are provided in administrative buildings that have been renovated and to which computer-equipped offices have been added for agents to use. The port also provides ships with solid waste collection and water services as well.
The Dikili seaport is just half an hour from the town of Bergama, in and around which are major historical attractions such as the ruins of ancient Pergamum, the Aesclepion, Temple of Zeus, Temple of Hera, the Red Basilica, and a Hellenistic theater as well as a world-class archaeological museum.
