Among the activities defined in the Natural Gaz Market Act (Statute 4646), importing and wholesaling natural gas rank among those with the highest profit margins in the natural gas value creation chain from the standpoint of supplying natural gas under agreements between consumer and distribution companies in Turkey’s natural gas market. Naturgaz is entitled to acquire wholesaling licenses from EMRA. Its ultimate goal is to supply at least 50% of the natural gas consumed by Kolin group companies. By acquiring contracts pursuant to transition article 2 of Statute 4646 and/or by obtaining import licenses of its own Naturgaz will be able to import natural gas and its goal is to import 2 billion m3 of it in 2009.
