Upper Harran Plain Irrigation, Main Channel Construction

The project, which aims to construct a 86,569-meter long main channel as the first stage of the Upper Harran Plain Irrigation System, has been undertaken by the Joint Venture in which Kolin is the pilot company. As part of the project, which entails the irrigation of 326,000 hectares of land, a trapezoidal-section concrete-lined channel, on both sides of this channel a service road, culverts and bridges, reinforced-concrete siphon, elevation structures, discharge outlets, and inlets were constructed. Water coming from the Atatürk Dam passes through the Urfa Tunnel following the already-constructed main channel, and is delivered to the Mardin–Ceylanpınar Plains.
